Halloween (2007) Gun Problems

In the movie Halloween, by Rob Zombie, in the end when Laurie is trying to shoot Mikey, why isn't her gun working?

At first it seems like the gun is out of ammo..
but then she tries again.. and again.. and it works on like the third time..

Did it magically appear to have bullets in it on the third time?
