Hallows Point - Halloween Cult Classic in the Making
Awesome homage to the 80's! I got to check out the indie Hallows Point at the Sarasota Will Scream Fest - it is still in the film festival route to my knowledge.
A Halloween cult classic in the making, Hallows Point is about a group of teenagers who resurrect their dead biology teacher through a seance. Thing is, the dead bio teacher was a serial killer, deep into black magic.
Starring David Naughton, Christa Campbell and Tom Nowicki, Hallows Point is indie horror that was shot in Florida. Lots of cool occultish things like tarot, Ouija boards and seances. The villain is totally creepy, had a sick voice and makes disturbing grunts! Christa Campbell makes a couple of appearances and even though her clothes stay on, she is damned sexy! Horror legend David Naughton also plays the guy who works at the occult bookstore. It was nice to see Naughton is this kind of a role. He does a great job - there is a tie-in that perhaps Naughton is actually the villain? You'll have to watch to find out.
All in all, Hallows Point is a fun Halloween movie, complete with some scares. Any movie reminiscent of the horror movies of the 80's is top on my list!
