Hand Without a Body Kills

I saw this movie on TV around 1974, but I'm not sure what year the movie is from. I was 11 years old and it really freaked me out.

In one scene a disembodied hand opens a door, comes up to a man sitting at a desk, motions for a ring, the man puts the ring on one of the fingers, then the hand chokes the man, killing him.

Does anyone know what movie this is?
