the movie you are describing. if the door in the basement is a trap door and is it chained if it is, it's the evil aka the evil below 1978. as far as I know not yet on dvd. I've been looking for this movie for a long time also.

I can't remember if there were crows or not but the garden hose did come to life..the house would trap people in it. A group of school kids broke down in their car and ended up trapped there (of course). Thought the guy might be Leif Garrett but couldn't find it listed in his filmography. (maybe he was embarrassed to mention it)

I am looking for a movie that for me is been the most scrary of all haunted house movies. can not remember the name, but i think it was from the 70's it was a group of studens that when to this big house and one of the guys open a basement door and unleash the devil, all doors and window got close and one by one star to died in a very horrific way. if you can help me find it i will appreciated.
