Horror Invaded my Brain
by Carrie
When I was a kid until about the age of sixteen, maybe a bit earlier than that, my mother was very adamant about what I could and could not watch. Along with what I could hear and not hear, that sort of thing. Basically, when I first heard a curse it had come from a kid in my junior high school.
So, obviously, I was not allowed to watch horror movies. When I think back about it, I realize how easy it was for me to get hooked once I saw it.
It started with violence more than horror. I watched a cartoon version of Spawn and was surprised to find out I loved to watch it. From there I saw Resident Evil. Now, horror that really isn't, but I thought it was.
After that I saw a few movies, but my real obsession with horror didn't start until we got the horror channel on our digital cable. That, in all honesty, got me hooked. I remember seeing Child's Play for the first time and wondering just what had made it that scary.
Nowadays I watch as many 'horror' movies as I can and find myself giggling at them because of some of the things that happen.
I'm more of a slasher horror fan, but if you get me into a good psycho horror that really messes with my mind (bugs under the skin, plants that take over the body, things like that) then I'm happy.
I'm also addicted to Horror Games, Horror Manga, horror Anything I can get basically. I'm hooked for life.
And I would Not change a thing!
