Horror Movie with Tree Stump Hole Goblins

Alright, this is been bugging me for a while now. Usually I'm good at researching old movies I've seen on the internet, but no luck here.

This movie was made sometime in the late 80's early 90's I'm guessing. I only remember bits and pieces of it:

It is located in a house where there are 2 boys (one is a friend sleeping over) and an older girl (either a sister or a babysitter).

By the end of the movie, the girl has been pulled into the wall (maybe through a closet?) and the friend had fallen into a hole in the ground made by a tree falling over. In the bottom of the hole he is attacked by little goblins and is bitten in the neck. He is seen later possessed and trying to pull the other boy into the wall somehow.

I think there is a main boogeyman-type monster that is doing all of this and I think the main boy kills him with a shotgun.

This all may not be completely accurate but it is what I remember of the movie.
