Any chance you're thinking of Superstition? Made in 1982 by James Roberson. There's a witch seeking vengeance for her execution, which you didn't mention. But it definitely had the lake and saw scenes. Hope this helped.

has to be what lies beneath despite being made recently..ish at the end when the gut is in the river a gohsts hand grabs his hand?
