Horror/Sci-fi Hospital Show

I'm looking for a Horror Hospital show from television. I do know that it's not 'The Kingdom' or 'Kingdom Hospital'. This show was on in the mid-to-late 90's, around the same time/a little after Strange Luck and American Gothic was on. From what I remember, it only aired 2 episodes (could be wrong about the number of episodes), then the 3rd week it was pre-empted by something (don't remember what) and the next week it was gone.
Plot that I can recall:
A new young doctor in a hospital. There is a black woman who I believe is a nurse in the hospital. He was born there, and she delivered him. There is another doctor who performs experiments in the basement, illegally. He experiments on terminally ill patients. (possibly a stem cell research type thing) To add to the conspiracy-style cover-up of the research, the new doctor is psychically linked to the hospital somehow, which is also kinda haunted.
I remember a scene where the new doctor sneaks into the basement of the hospital, finds a room with about a dozen half-dead patients in the beds, and the surgeon standing in front of a machine, taking note of the readings on it. They then argue and fight out of the basement, a short chase goes up the stairs, down the hall, out the back door of the hospital, onto a sort of raised loading dock/fire escape and I think the surgeon is killed, which then adds his ghost to the mix of the hauntings in the hospital.
There was another scene where the black nurse is talking to the new doctor about when he was born, how shes always cared for him and looked after him (because I think his father/mother was a doctor here too and they're dead).
From what I remember, I really liked the show a lot and was really upset when it never came back on. I may be wrong, and it may have been a mini-series and I just missed the ending somehow.
Either way, does anyone know what it is? Any ideas?
