Definitely 'Pulse' (1988)

As a few others have said, it's Pulse (1988).

Strangely enough, I never forgot the movie, despite only seeing it once when I was about 12 or 13. (Bizarrely enough, it was on around Christmas time! Odd timing in a season usually dominated by family TV.)

The shower scene stuck in my head. It seemed horrific at the time, and - after picking up a copy of the movie recently - that scene is still pretty awful, even though it's not overly graphic.

Somehow, despite being silly in a lot of ways, it's a movie that leaves a distinct impression on you.

I literally have been trying to figure the name of this movie out for years. I too saw this back in the 90's on showtime and it just stuck w/ me for years but I could never remember the name. Pulse (1988), not the crappy 2006 movie about cell phones, is exactly what I was trying to find. This site is awesome.

OMG I though I would never find out the name of that movie. I've thought about it radomly throughout my life. I'm twenty-eight and whoever described the movie was reading my mind! This site is awsome...thank you so much.
