I Know Who Killed Me is somehow
made good, however, by a compelling Lindsay Lohan and a rather a unique
plot. A bloody thumbs up!

I just love a good horror movie. I especially love a great
horror movie but let’s face it those are few and far between.
I Know Who Killed Me written by Jeff Hammond and
directed by Chris Sivertson is a good horror movie. Good because it
keeps us guessing right up until the end, and believe me, Horror Queen
prides herself on being able to figure out
“whodunits” within the first fifteen minutes. This
is actually an annoying obsessive habit that tends to ruin films for
those of us who have it. Anyway, the cleverness in plot coupled with
the talented acting of leading lady Lindsay Lohan in I Know
Who Killed Me just manages to make up for some of the
uninspired dialogue and not so great performances of the supporting
actors.
I Know Who Killed Me is the story of
young writer and pianist Aubrey, a high school student…okay
I have to say here that Ms. Lohan does look a bit older than
you’re average high school student…who goes
missing only to reappear days later with a missing arm and leg and a
brand new personality, that of a hard knocks stripper named Dakota.
Confused? So are Aubrey’s friends and family, not to mention
her now-slighted cat. Yet after seeing the graphic torture scenes in
which the amputations take place at the hands of an unknown serial
killer, we naturally assume the Dakota thing is just some sort of
post-traumatic stress disorder.
Not the case, as it turns out. Without giving too much away, think Boxing
Helena meets the Parent Trap.
Aubrey, now Dakota desperately tries to find out what happened to her
arm and leg and how she ended up in this conservative rich
girl’s life with a family and boyfriend she doesn’t
know. And speaking of the boyfriend, his shock at seeing his teen love
so severely disfigured is quickly alleviated by the fact that she now
has quite a sexual appetite as well as the talents of a stripper. Who
knew?
Have you ever wondered why in a horror movie no one ever bothers to
call the authorities for help? At least I Know Who Killed Me
respects the viewer’s intelligence enough to address this
obvious question, albeit in a lame way. As Aubrey/Dakota and her father
speed off to find the killer, her father mentions calling for help to
which she responds with annoyance “we don’t have
time!” This "time problem" has plagued not just I
Know Who Killed Me but countless horror films over the years,
many of which would cease to exist if a simple ten second
“911” call was made. But you knew that.
So
if you are a Lindsay Lohan fan, a horror fan or both, and you
don’t mind a little graphic violence with your sexual
overtones, go treat yourself to I Know Who Killed Me.
