Immortal Monster Terrorizes Child

As a small child I was terrorized by horror movies, absolutely panic stricken. (why did I keep going back for more? I don't know!)

I remember seeing this one particular horror movie only once..I swear is was called "Kaltiki, the immortal monster" but this is going back on memories from over 40 years ago. All I can remember now is the title and something to do with having radioactive bones left after you were munched on, and you were not always munched to death. I believe one of the characters just lost the flesh from a hand and wrist but the bones remained, attached to his arm....

The movie's ending? I don't remember!

I never have been able to find this movie again, or to find anyone who has ever seen it...Anyone out there have any feed back on "Caltiki (or Kaltiki) the immortal monster???

Or... was this one of my own nightmares that terrorized me as a child...they said that you could have heard my screaming down to he next block....freaky huh?

By the way, today I am a nurse and as I type this I am on duty in a locked down psychiatric ward... now THAT is really strange.

Yes, Kaltiti!
by: Anonymous

I will never forget that movie. Being the oldest child I was allowed to stay up late and scare myself to death. I asked my younger brother the other day if he remembered that movie and he said "yes". I wasn't sure if I had dreamed the whole thing up. He said it really scared him. And I used to scare the younger kids by saying "Kaltiki is going to get you!" and they'd all run screaming to Mom...LOL. I can't believe the things we used to do as kids.

CALTIKI LOOKING IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES
by: Carrie Go

I remember this movie scaring the life out of me. I have and will continue to look for it on sale somewhere. I remember the green slime creature dissolving anyone it touched. Then they come out with The Blob. That was good too, but I would really like to find Caltiki the Immortal Monster on DVD. If there is anyone out there that can help me, please post a note as to where I can purchase this movie.

Cal Tiki

I lived on Fort Bragg, North Carolina in the early 60's when I was a young child. There was a very early Saturday morning scary movie show each week. I remember this movie from then....it was shown more than once over our three year tour and scared me silly back then.

Freaked me out!
by: Anonymous

I wasn't allowed to watch monster movies for a while after seeing this one. I slept on my parents floor for months afterwards. The part that scared me the most was when the family was trying to escape from the house by ladder out the bedroom window, and the monster was coming in the door. They looked down and it was also surrounding the bottom of the ladder. The very smart dad just pushed the ladder away and they landed on the ground and ran away.

Saw it too, after 40 years
by: Anonymous

Must have been about twelve when I first saw it -it scared the heck out of me too. I happened upon it on Ebay and bought it for like $5.00 and had to watch it.

Campy but not bad, especially the effects. It is Italian but the weird thing is the actors are speaking English. The scene that really bothered me as a kid - the bad guy getting eaten - had little effect. The benefit of age I guess.

I had a similar experience with this movie. I saw it as a small child and it scared me half to death. Then again, the living trees in 'The Wizard Of Oz' were pretty scary at that age, too. Anyway, for decades I thought I had somehow dreamed up the plot and the images I remember, not realizing that this was an actual film.

The movie itself can actually be viewed in it's entirety on Youtube by typing in 'The Immortal Monster'. It's devided into seven ten-minute videos. Check it out for yourself.

Oh, and by the way, it's not Italian. It was make in Mexico by Mexican citizens.

Left me scarred for life
by: Captain Cootie

My mother told me years later that she had made a mistake letting her 8 year old son go and see this movie. 'Why?', you may ask, intrepid geeksters. Because like Bill Cosby, I was scarred for life! Well, not really but as my Mom and I didn't sleep for three days and its burned on my brain forever. The funny thing is I never remember seeing it. However after speaking to my older siblings they too validated my Mother's story. They also stated that I refused to go to sleep for the next few days, so it must have been true.

All I know is that this movie has stayed with me for as long as I can remember. The last time I really watched it was on Saturday night in the summer of 1973 on Chiller Theater on WPIX out of our New York affiliate. Caltiki The Immortal Monster goes down as a true classic monster flick gaurenteed to scare the heck out of you if you are under the age of 12.

The movie is one of those that is so bad it's good. In an age when monster, sci-fi and horror films were produced like TV episodes, this ranks right up there as the Star Wars of it's time.

If you are looking for torrents for this one there are several out there. But beware mighty geek-a-zoids there are frauds and imitations. Moreover be careful because many of the torrent sights are out there, as you may know, to draw you in and suck your pocket book dry like Christopher Lee in a Dracula Movie.

Anyway have a rockin' goovy time finding this one. See you & as they say 'Peace in the Middle East Ya'all.'

The Captain!

I remember some of this film. It had to do with a creature, like the blob, which was prophesised by an Aztec or Mayan legend. It must be in some archive somewhere.

I saw it!!!
by: Anonymous

know way I saw it at a theater in los angeles where i lived as a child. Man did it freak me out. The part where they lower the diver in a small water hole (was it a small cave lake?) then something dark moved toward the diver. When they pulled the diver out and removed his helmet only a skull remained no flesh at all! Well that"s the way i remember it some 40 years ago. I am still tramatized. Ha Ha.

Just google it
by: Anonymous

You must not have googled this topic? It's spelled Caltiki and after typing that title on Google, I got a million sites to look at. It was an itallian film from 1959 or 1960, and you can even purchase the DVD on line.
