John DeSantis as Moonface
Ethan Embry as Bruce
Synopsis: In Incident On and Off
a Mountain Road Ellen (Bree Turner) is driving along when she
has a mishap and is stranded “on a mountain road”
in the middle of nowhere. One thing leads to another and she is chased
through the woods “off a mountain road” by a
monster-like man. One problem for the villain in Incident On
and Off a Mountain Road though; Ellen has been married to a
survivalist nut for sometime who taught her a few things and she
decides that she is not going to go down like so many other damsels
being chased through the woods by a monster intent on killing them. No
sir. Ole’ Moonface (John DeSantis) has picked the wrong
distressed female to mess with this time.
Thoughts: Leave it to Mr. Coscarelli (Phantasm, Bubba Ho-tep, etc.) to turn the typical female horror movie role on its head. I thought this was a great intro to the series. Bree Turner did a great job in her depiction of Ellen and it was good to see Angus Scrimm again. The story in Incident On and Off a Mountain Road stayed together rather well and the pace of the film was intense from beginning to end. Coscarelli set the bar right where it needed to be for the other Masters of Horror entries to match. Questions or comments about Incident On and Off a Mountain Road? Contact us!
