Isolation is a surprisingly good film from the Irish Director Billy O'Brien - filmed and cast in Ireland.
Isolation is about a destitute cow farmer who sells his bovines to participate in questionable genetic experiments. Of course, the experiment goes awry, mutant creatures are born, and the bloody chaos ensues. A pretty standard formula for sure, but this one works well.
The acting is solid, characters are fleshed-out. When I develop empathy for the characters, I become invested in their struggle for survival. How many times have you sat through some drivel, and when the characters get picked off, you find yourself saying "good" to yourself? Isolation is not like that. High tension. Good gore. Unexpectedly well done.
