Killer Vacuum Cleaner Hates Noise

I remember a 70's or 80's horror movie or TV show episode involving a girl in a house trying to escape from a brown, sentient vacuum cleaner that kills by sucking the souls out of people through its vacuum hose mouth, and attacking anything and everything that makes noise.

The girl survives for a while by turning on every appliance in the house, leading to the demise of the toaster, electric mixer, some toy cars, and an alarm clock, among other things.
