Martin Monahan (Martin Moakler) is a documentary filmmaker who mysteriously disappeared. A search of his home turned up footage from his last piece of work where he followed and interviewed an "in the field" serial killer. Killer View (aka "Snuffed") is a showing of that final footage.
The film that follows is a combination of reasonable-sounding dialogue, descriptions of a day in the life of a serial killer that sound ridiculously nonchalant and extremely violent and disturbing footage of the killer in action. This guy, you see, likes to film the action while he is forcing his victims to confront the falseness of their lives. Lucky for the documentary filmmaker... The real question, though, is whether the killer, who survives by covering his tracks, will let the filmmaker go about his merry way when the filming is done. Hmmmmm...

Killer View is very raw and very real in it's portrayal of a random redneck with megalomania and a talent for sadism and murder. This film is more than a dramatization of a supposed documentary, but an attempt to diginto the mind of one who is not only capable of repeated murders, but actually thrives on it. A very good attempt indeed as this film is highly disturbing and compelling in that "slow down at the scene of an accident to see if there are any bodies" kind of way. It disgusts most of us to even consider behaving in a manner dramatized in Killer View, and the normal reaction is to detach from it a bit as a viewer rather than a participant - and even judge the guy for what he's capable of. The disturbing part is that is that at times, as horrifying as it is, it doesn't seem half bad. Could any one of us go down this path if we would just reduce our inhibitions a notch? Of course not! I'm just saying...
This film though, for all it's depth and psychological impact, is not for everyone. Well, there may be those who cannot handle the realism of the torture and death scenes, which are explicit and frequent, but I'm not talking about those people. I'm talking about the folks who need a lot happening on the screen to take them outside of their own minds. In dramatic contrast to that this one will likely put you deeper inside your mind - to those dark places that we don't really want to acknowledge. Killer View is certainly not for the squeamish, and is not recommended as a "date movie" or for light hearted horror movie nights with friends. It is hard to imagine there would be much lively discussion after the credits roll - more like mountains of uncomfortable silence.
