Little Black Stones / Meteors Infect People

I watched a 90's horror film in which little black stones are possible meteors that prick/infect people when touched and make them evil.
In one scene, a little boy becomes evil. In another scene, a there's a large burn mark in the corner of a room near the roof, which is possibly from one of the meteors.
