Little Girl Follows Butterfly, Dad Goes Crazy

Does anyone remember a horror movie from 2002 or 2003 that may have had Dakota Fanning in it?

In the beginning, the mom dies or commits suicide in the bathbub. I think are clocks involved? The dad and daughter move to the country and the girl finds a cave with a butterfly in it that she follows.

The dad goes crazy and tries to kill the girl and a sheriff comes to help.

Any ideas?
