Little Monsters Calling for Sally

by Leslie

I am trying to remember a movie from possibly the 70s. I must have been about 9 or so when I saw it.

A pregnant woman is alone in a house (I believe her husband was away on business). Supposedly there were these "little monsters" buried behind a brick wall in the basement when earlier inhabitants resided in the house. The monsters wanted to collect souls. They could only come out in the dark though and would disappear at the sight of light. In the dark they would call the current occupant's name out over again... "Sally, Sally... Sally"

The last I remember is Sally being pulled through her house in her nightgown and she was trying to flash a camera with the bulbs on top to get them to let go of her... I have been jumping to my bed with a running start ever since!!

Finally, peace.. and in only 5 seconds
by: Christine

I've been trying to describe the details about this freaky movie I watched when I was about nine years old. All I remember is the part when she decides she's going to fight back and pulls this string really tight at the bottom of the stairs intending to capture one of the monsters. Instead, they're so strong that when she looks at her hands she has rope burns. The gardener swears to the monsters that he was not the one who tried to close the furnace in the basement (that's where they came from). They want souls. That's it.

remake alert
by: Anonymous

This movie I saw as a kid on tbs in the early 80's. Well as it stands Guillermo del Toro and Miramax will produce a remake of the horror-thriller telefilm "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark," the specialty distributor's first big dive into genre filmmaking under president Daniel Battsek.
I'm sure this will be just as scary.

Be afraid...
by: Taller Ghost Walt

The movie was called "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark." It was a 'movie of the week' starring Kim Darby. I think you can actually find it on Ebay or Amazon. It's definitely worth seeking out; it was one of the creepiest movies ever made for television.
