Little Monsters Turn To Stone When Electrocuted

Does anyone remember an 80's or early 90's horror film about monsters that when they're cut into pieces become new monsters?

The monsters are small like gremlins. The only way to kill them is to electrocute them, after which they turn to stone.

This has been killing me for years - any help would be great.

Glad to know I'm not the only person that was dying to find out the title of this movie. Friends thought I was crazy too. I'm defintly obsessed with 80's movies and now I can add Munchies to my collection! Lol

...and something that stoners get - the Munchies!

Don't waste time with the sequel, it's a kids movie where the munchy is more like a little cute friendly goblin.
