Lock Your Werewolf Father in the Shed

I remember seeing a movie on TV in the 70s where a father, who knows he is going to become a werewolf, tells his son to lock him in a shed.
The boy chains him into the shed but the father eventually breaks free and chases his son. I remember images of the closet and the werewolf chasing the van his son is in.
Kind of cheesy but scary at the same time. The idea of having to lock your father up to prevent him from killing you is pretty intense.
Does anyone know what movie this is?
