Man Who Kills Woman's Teenage Daughter Squished Against Tree at End

Hi,

I remember a horror movie I watched when I was far too young that my uncle told me was based on a true story - probably not but it made the film all the more scary.

All I can remember about the movie is that a deranged man (husband?) terrorizes his wife, cuts power, and the teenage daughter goes missing. At one stage the wife is able to get to the family car and while reversing quickly hears a loud thud from the back of the car to find it is the dead daughter. At this point she drives like a maniac and eventually kills the man (husband?), hitting him with the car and pinning him to a tree with the front of it..
