Mini Flashbacks of Horror Flick

I have minimal memory of a horror movie with a ghost and a statue of some sort that strangles a person in a pool. I also recall a part in the movie where a person sprinkles some sort of stuff across a road that creates an invisible wall and a car slams into it. I was very young when I saw bits of this movie, but I remember the ghost scared the crap out of me!

Anyone know what this movie is?

I Don't Think It's Horror

There's a movie called Shadow of the Hawk (1976) with Chief Dan George and Jan Michael Vincent.

It's considered adventure but it does deal with sorcery. I vividly recall a scene where he sprinkles the powder and then just stands there as the black car speeds towards him and then just stops and crushes like it hit a wall.
