My Grandma Introduced Me
by Juan
(Galvan)
2007 Halloween Horror Nights ('Elm Street' Set)
I was eight years old when I was first introduced to Nightmare on Elm Street. I remember feeling like this man was actually going to kill me on my street, or that I was going to wake up in the middle of the night when other kids were dreaming about monkey bars. I kept thinking about how tight I could keep my eyes closed if I did wake up.
I watched Night of the Demons and never once thought it was corny that I was afraid to climb back on the top bunk if I had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
I wouldn't trade this for the world. My grandma is the best, and I will forever credit her for my introduction and obsession with horror movies. And with that introduction my mind has thought (innocently) twistedly and (politely) abnormally.
Thanks, Nana, for all the quick-paced heart beats and goose bumps!
