My Top 10 Horror Movies

Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI
1. Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI (1986). Why Part VI you ask? Well I'm a lover and collector of the whole series but Part VI is my fave because you really get to see Jason in his element here. After being resurrected by Tommy (by accident), he goes and does what he does best - kills camp counselors! It's like every other Friday the 13th but with a more violent touch.
2. A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987). This one earns the title as my second fave and beats out number one. With Wes Craven back on the project after refusing to direct number two, its essential for any horror loving junkie.
3. Clive Barker's Hellraiser (1987). Pinhead is one of those characters that turns heads, literally! Who wouldn't be able to recognize his face? And with a dead guy regenerating by consuming the flesh of human men in your attic who could lose? Definitely one you have to pay attention to and worth it!
4. Thir13een Ghosts (2001). Not to be confused with the movie of the same title from 1960! Staring Matthew Lilard and Tony Shalhoub (the guy from Monk), this one is a ghost story with a twist. With gory moments and great CGI, I have watched this so many times i could quote it!
5. Saw (2004). This movie really made its own style of horror within its self once it was released. The dirty, grimy style of filming is trademark to the Saw franchise and you can't go past the one that started it all. Watch for the the leg cutting scene at the end.
6. 28 Days Later (2003). This movie really changed the whole zombie genre and kicked off the zombie movie outpour. I like it because of the different style of directing. It's really a cut above the rest.
7. Paranormal Activity (2009). Similar to its brother The Blair Witch Project (which you will notice is not on my list), this movie is shot using one camera, usually positioned in the bedroom. From here you get to see all the ghoulish antics that that pesky demon is up to.
8. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003 Remake). I know, I know, a remake? Yes, I prefer this to the old version. I have seen and prefer the remake due to the updated graphics and much scarier portrayal of Leatherface. I found him to be somewhat amusing in the original.
9. The Descent (2006). This movie is the reason I will never go caving, apart from the fact that I'm claustrophobic. The humanoids who bear a slight resemblance to Gollum attack a group of cavers who get stuck in an unmapped cave. Enjoy!
10. Shrooms (2008). This movie is complete with sex, drugs and loud music. There are two different stories laced into one, and an interesting twist at the end.
That's my list of my top 10 horror films! Any questions, comments or opinions - I would love to hear them!
