My Top Ten Favorite Horror Movies

1) The Amityville Horror - Its old but you gotta love it. It provides a thrill that will make you think twice about going inside that old abandoned house or just a creepy looking house in general.
2) Stephen King's Carrie - It really makes you think about real life situations with bullying and how it affects people. I watched it first when I was about nine and Sissy Spacek in the infamous "Prom Scene" kept me awake for days. But that wasn't the only thing that scared me. Piper Laurie really freaked me out... she was very convincing.
3) Stephen King's The Shining - Red Rum! Red Rum! This movie scared the crap out of me. I was eleven when I first saw it. At first I wasn't really scared but, as the movie progressed I was covering my eyes literally every five seconds. It's a must see for sleepovers with friends. It will keep you hiding under the covers for the rest of the night.
4) Stephen King's It - Granted its not all that scary but it provides just enough a thrill to give you the creeps.
5) The Wicker Man (remake)- WHOA! it cant get any creepier then the second to last scene in the movie. It was Thanksgiving and my Dad turned it on and I was like "This isn't scary... just weird" and then when the last scene came on I was screaming "Turn it off! Turn it off!".
6) Scream - Gives you just enough of thrill to not trust any masked people in robes on Halloween.
7) Scary Movie - It's a comedy but it really makes you feel better after you see a really scary movie. And if your a kid, the cut version is always on comedy central because the theatrical version can be a bit inappropriate.
8) Orphan - Makes you never want to adopt a 12 year old child. The part that scared me the most was when she smashed the nun with the hammer.
9) The Stepfather (remake) - Not all that scary but a good starter film for anyone who's new to Horror Movies. I've seen it about seven times. It's definately one worth seeing.
10) The Birds - Especially considering I was petrified of birds growing up this movie is a classic thriller... a little outdated... but a classic nonetheless.
