Sadako 3D Movie Poster

Ringu and it's immediate follow up Ringu 2 turned major heads in Japan. In fact, the film’s turned countless Hollywood heads as well. Remember that we saw American renditions of each film churned out in 2002 and again in 2005. And, they did pretty well. Americans ate up those wicked visuals and that eerie atmosphere just as the Japanese had, and it was official: Kôji Suzuki’s story was a worldwide success.

If you thought the madness of the twisted Sadako had met an end, you were wrong. This deviant presence will return to Blu-ray, DVD and digital outlets on June 4th when the latest series installment goes live to the masses.

Sadako 3D will feature the long awaited return of one of cinemas most memorable villainesses.

Tsutomu Hanabusa directs from a screenplay written by Yoshinobu Fujioka and Tsutomu Hanabusa. Satomi Ishihara (Moonlight Mask), Kôji Seto (Runway Beat), Tsutomu Takahashi (Aragure) and Shôta Sometani (The Intermission) star.

Check out the Japanese trailer below, but expect a subbed version to hit the web before long. This is a franchise we can't seem to get enough of, and you can bet the marketing team will be aiming this one at everyone imaginable.

Synopsis: “Sadako waits, a vicious spirit, hungry for blood and souls. What began as a haunted videotape, passed from hand to cursed hand all those years ago in THE RING, has only gotten easier to find.  Sadako waits. And it’s not just on tape anymore. At a local high school, there is a rumor about an online video of someone committing suicide. If it were only a prank, or the work of a deranged artist in town, the students wouldn’t be killing themselves after watching it, would they? The police would have a theory about the quickly-growing body count? And what about the woman in white with long hair? Sadako is always hungry. And she’s no longer alone.”
