Nicole Rayburn is the Up and Coming Actress from the New Movie Blur

Nicole Rayburn, the lead actress in the horror movie Blur premiering on DVD on April 17, 2007, has a secret. Sure, the Nicole that everybody sees is a stunning young starlet that has appeared in mediums from horror films to the pages of Playboy magazine. The public Nicole is filled with tenacity and aggressively pursues her next acting gig or public appearance. Nicole appears to be completely comfortable both cheering for the home team as a member of the cheerleading squad and appearing nude on film. But Nicole Rayburn has a secret that nobody would ever guess: “I get so nervous before an Interview! It is worse than preparing for a scene – my insides get all knotted up!” revealed Nicole as she spoke to BHM Editor Don Sumner from the back yard of her new Los Angeles home, birds dive-bombing her all the while.

Pre-interview nerves may explain why, seconds after the telephone interview began, Nicole exclaimed “Where’s my coffee?! I lost it! Oh, it’s in the microwave…”

Nicole Rayburn had an interesting life as a child. “I was a chameleon, a gypsy” said Nicole when asked about her childhood, “I grew up in a military family and we moved around a lot.” Did the lack of stability during her formative years affect Nicole’s personality? “I was a bully” said Nicole, “There was one time when some guy did something to my friend Naomi. I walked up to him in the lunch line and punched him in the face. If there is a problem you could call Nicole”. Of course, she grew out of it. “I still get the urge (to punch people in the face) but I have learned to control it. Sometimes I wish that someone would provoke me.”

The “tough girl” image is at complete odds with the physical presence of this 5’5” sexy dynamo. When Nicole Rayburn moved to Miami to make her fortune after high school, “People would come up to me and say ‘I can make you a model’”, said Nicole. “I was like ‘a 5 foot model? That’s retarded.” Still, Nicole did start meeting people and found jobs in music videos, modeling swimwear and…as a foot model. “I have cute toes” revealed Nicole, “Tall girls have weird toes”.

When Nicole set out for a role in her current project, Blur, it progressed along the standard path. “I auditioned, was called back, and then was not picked. They cast another girl”. Because of scheduling conflicts with the originally-cast actress Nicole was ultimately cast in the film. “Everyone was really strange when I came on the set, like they were afraid that I would be upset that I was second choice” said Nicole. “I didn’t care though. Whatever…I’m here and she is not, so what?”

Nicole being cast in Blur ended up being a great turn of events. “Blur is the most professional and ‘grown up’ production that I have ever been a part of. I have been in gigantic productions (with Tom Hanks directed by Stephen Spielberg) and they were incredible experiences, but my part was ‘spit-big’…Blur was a leading role and everything was run so efficiently and professionally. I am very proud of it.”

Nicole Rayburn seemed to suddenly stop mid-sentence and said “I do have a fully nude scene in Blur, did you know?” No, I did not know…but do tell. “It furthers the story and is done tastefully, but it was very nerve-racking to sit in the premiere with my parents and friends counting down until the time that I appear nude, and holding my breath for 5 minutes until it was over.”

So what creative endeavors are on the horizon for Nicole Rayburn? “I don my boobs again in Cougar Club” Nicole responded. “It’s a teen movie, kind of American Pie meets Porky’s.” I can’t wait.

Beyond acting in front of the camera Nicole Rayburn has aspirations behind the camera as well. “I have been shooting shorts behind the camera” said Nicole, “I love producing. I have also been taking a voice-over class and would love to do animation work.” What about Playboy? (Okay, my juvenile tendencies are coming through…) “They were after me for a long time to pose for them. I think they saw my pictures from the swimsuit modeling I had done. They pay about 10K to do a photo shoot, but I didn’t think it was worth it. Finally they offered to make me ‘Babe of the Month’ and shoot me in lingerie without nudity. There was an article about me too, so I decided to do it.”

Finally, the moment we all wait for in every BHM Interview – the EXCLUSIVE. “I don’t know what people don’t know about me…I’ll have to ask Tommy (Nicole’s husband).” Ultimately Nicole Rayburn shared her trouble with pre-interview nerves, and I was left disappointed that I didn’t have anything really juicy. Or did I?

Two minutes after bidding farewell to the striking actress Nicole Rayburn my telephone rang. It was Nicole.

“I’m a handyman!” cheered Nicole. “Nobody knows that I am a handyman. My favorite tool is a crowbar that has a matching hammer with a blue handle. I have knocked out walls, built our fireplace, built the guest-house patio. I even used a chainsaw to cut up a tree that fell on our neighbor’s house!” Wow…I didn’t see that coming.

Nicole Rayburn is absolutely fascinating. As an actress, swimsuit model and cheerleader Nicole would seem to be the girl that everyone envied in high school…but after talking with Nicole for a while I could also see other sides. The shy girl that gets nervous before an interview, the absent-minded woman that loses her coffee, the “Get ‘Er Done” chick that fires up the power tools when things need doing and the excitable youngster that runs away shrieking from dive-bombing birds.
