Oh, Zombie Master!! What are your Favorite Zombie Movies?

Dear Zombie Master,

What are your five most favorite Zombie movies in the whole, wide world? I want your list because I am pretty sure it will be the best!

This is a very difficult question. I have so many and it is hard to place them in any order. So that being said, I will give you my number one and then four more in no particular order.


1. Night of the Living Dead -- This should really come to no surprise. NOTLD started it all for so many and we would not be talking about this if it were not for Romero's vision.


2 - 5 in no particular order:

Zombi 2 -- or Zombie if you prefer. This was from the brilliant mind of Lucio Fulci and totally freaked out people on both sides of the Atlantic.

Dawn of the Dead -- The original of course. Romero expertly used Dawn to both stick it to the current social structure and get the zombie genre back on course.

City of the Living Dead, The Beyond, and House by the Cemetery -- Fulci's Gothic zombie trilogy. I know I cheated, this is three films but it is hard for me to mention one without mentioning the other two.

Shaun of the Dead -- This is still hands down the best zom-com out there and it was filmed by guys who truly love zombie films.

Honorable mention -- Zombie Lake -- I know, I know, this movie sucked but it is so fun to watch that I just love it.


Now, I am a realist so I know that there are those who will read this and automatically go into "but what about...." mode. Well Jess asked for my favorites and not yours so nuahh.

Anyway, Jess if you will watch these truly great zombie films then you will be well on your way to zombie masterdom.
