Also looking for a movie about a basement...

I'm looking for a movie that sounds like it might be the same one. I recall a wife who is dragged down the basement stairs by some little creatures that live in a sealed up hole in the basement wall. The hole is opened by her husband doing some construction and I think he's pulled into it. I can't remember the title - I thought it was 'Don't Go In The Basement' but that search isn't pulling up the movie that I remember. Can anyone help?

This may have been a monster and not a human killer the more I think about it. Please help if anyone knows or can at least guess.
