One Missed Call (2008) Horror Movie Review
One Missed Call misses the mark! Bloody Thumbs Down!
One Missed Call is a disaster of a film, with one monotonous death after another, offering little to entertain us but a bit of suspense.

Our story begins with a young girl hearing and seeing strange things and then being pulled underwater to her death, along with her cat, in her backyard pond. A few days later her friend Leann mysteriously receives a call from her – one missed call actually – and when she checks the voicemail it is the sound of Leann herself meeting her own fateful death. As you may have guessed Leann soon bites the dust in the same manner as heard on the call.
Repeat this half a dozen times and you have our movie.
But let’s go back. Enter Beth who after witnessing a few friends’ deaths by cell phone message enlists the help of the only law enforcement agent who believes her, Detective Jack Andrews. Jack’s own sister had died in a mysterious way. So the two begin their race against time to find the killer before their own phones’ show the message: One Missed Call.

The only worthwhile thing about One Missed Call is its suspense, the operative word being only. I can honestly say I was bored watching it and I am pretty easily and enjoyably frightened. And here’s a hint: When you hear your own last words on a voicemail try not to utter them in real life, at least not in the next few days.
One Missed Call stinks. Don’t waste your time.
