Pathology Makes Us Wonder From the Chilling Opening Scene.
The interns in Pathology perversely toy with dead people to make them mouth dialogue from When Harry Met Sally and one can’t help but wonder… are we all capable of such inhumane acts? Or are they specific to this particular group of drug-addicted sleep deprived medical residents?

Young intern Ted has just arrived at one of the leading pathology labs in the country fresh from a philanthropic trip overseas after graduating first in his class at Harvard Medical School. He leaves in waiting beautiful, wealthy fiancé Gwen who supports his time away studying dead bodies. Because the group of pathological pathologists already at the lab is pretty set in their weird ways, they don’t exactly greet the newbie with open arms. Not yet anyway.
No sooner does Ted realize his pathology colleagues are not just toying inappropriately with the cadavers, but are actually murdering them in the first place, than he is roped into taking part in their games. Now granted, Ted was threatened by Jake, the leader and most obsessive killer of the group, if he didn’t partake, but one wonders why killing comes so easily for our hero, especially when he is plied with smoking crystal meth after which he seems to actually enjoy the process. Oh and aside from the brutal murdering, Ted begins cheating on Gwen with one of the other interns in what becomes a sadistic sex ritual. Hint: if you’re going to cheat on your fiancé, make sure her lunatic killer boyfriend doesn’t find out.

So the bizarre ritual of hunt, kill and examine continues. Oh and let’s not forget a key component to the game, the part where the interns guess how each victim died at the hands of one of their co-workers. This is of special interest to Jake and why he takes a liking to Ted – because Ted is smart enough to figure out even the most elaborate causes of death. How proud his Harvard professors would be.
All on the goings on seem to slip past the lead pathologist Dr. Morris who is a pseudo father to the group. Somehow he’s perceptive enough to realize Ted has been using drugs, but not enough to see the entire group is a bunch of crazed addicts on a killing spree. “Hmm…I wonder why the number
of mysterious murders due to medicinal substances only a doctor could get has quadrupled in town this quarter.”
As one would imagine, Ted gets himself into trouble trying to lead a double life and when his new friends show up at Gwen’s house over the holidays with obnoxious antics he makes the choice to leave the group in favor of a more normal life. No more drugs. No more violent sex. No more killing. Unable to find a Murderer’s Anonymous meeting nearby however, Ted is quickly lured back in despite the risks – loss of fiancé, loss of medical license, death penalty, burning in hell, etc.
Does Ted eventually escape the vicious game? Let’s just say he is going to have a few challenges with the Hippocratic Oath.
