The Second Season of the Masters of
Horrorseries on Showtime combines top horror writers and
directors together for a second year creating some incredible (and some
not so incredible) one-hour features. Pro-Life
shows that John Carpenter can take a mediocre script and create a great
horror movie.

Original
air date: November 24, 2006 Directed by: John Carpenter Written by: Drew McWeeny & Scott Swan
Starring:
Ron Perlman as Dwayne Burcell Caitlin Wachs as Angelique Burcell Mark Feuerstein as Alex Emmanuelle Vaugier as Kim
Synopsis: Alex (Mark Feuerstein) and Kim
(Emmanuelle Vaugier) are medical personnel that work at a
women’s clinic. While driving to work they almost run into
Angelique (Caitlin Wachs) as she runs out of the woods into the middle
of the road. It seems that Angelique wants an abortion. Her father
Dwayne (Ron Perlman) is a militant pro-life advocate that wants his
daughter back. What nobody knows is that the father of the baby that
Angelique is carrying will do anything to protect it.
Thoughts: Have I ever told you that John Carpenter
is one of my favorite directors? Pro-Life is
another reason why. He does an excellent job with a mediocre script and
turns it into a John Carpenter “joint”. I am also a
fan of Ron Perlman and he is worth watching here to. The special
effects are great and it is wonderful to see Cody Carpenter in the
soundtrack department. As far as the subject matter goes, had Homecoming
(Season 1, Episode 6) been done like this it would have probably been a
better viewing experience. Whatever your views about the subject
matter, if you like horror you will like Pro-Life. Questions
or comments about Pro-Life?
