Ok to start off I'll go ahead and say I first saw this movie before I watched Scream. I do not recommend that. To top that off, I first saw it on AMC's Monsterfest, I also don't recommend that (Cable version). So as you can imagine, I was shocked to find out that Sidney (Neve Campbell) went out with Billy.
I was equally shocked to find out that Aunt Jakie (Laurie Metcalf) was so evil. As for the movie itself I really enjoyed it, "Scream 2"does a great job of making you scared and laugh at the same time. Wes Craven also does a great job in this movie of making you feel like the events in this movie could happen to you just as it happens to Sidney.
While I've always had a soft spot for Slasher flicks, I really particularly liked Scream 2. It taps into a great fear that everyone has of who is on the other end of the phone line, just as 'When a Stranger Calls" or "Black Christmas" had before.
I would strongly recommend this movie for the horror fan that isn't the most gutsy - by that I mean the ones who love the genre but get scared easy. Like I said Scream 2 Does a GREAT job of scaring you and making you laugh but I also wouldn't say “don't see it” if you get scared easy.
Scream 2 belongs in everyone’s collection as does the first Scream. As for the 3rd installment, well I just won't go there.
