Searching for a Scare

When I was younger (not that I'm old, I'm 23) I got the crap scared out of me by Field of Dreams. I couldn't even look at a cornfield and I made my parents nuts by sleeping in their bed at night if we had so much as driven past a cornfield that day! Although at the time I hated it, I've since grown to love that feeling of being scared.
When your young it is so easy to find, you just don't always enjoy being scared. I WISH I could be scared for months by a cornfield these days. I want that feeling I had when I caught glimpses of my dad watching Jaws and the Twilight Zone Episode about the monster on the wing.
For the longest time I never considered myself a horror fan. I didn't notice that I was drawn to scary movies that my friends never wanted to watch or that the more horrific I heard a movie was the more I wanted to watch it. I didnt even realize that I was searching for that thrill that I got as a child. Up until 3 yrs ago I never would of called myself a horror fan.
But alot changes in 3 yrs and I'm sure as hell making up for all the time I spent denying my love of blood and monsters and ghosts and gore and...well u get the idea.
My netflix is in the hundreds, most of it horror films. I want to watch them all...every one. Even the bad ones. Often I try to limit the scary movies I get (ok 2 horror dvds and 2 of whatever else) but thats like an addict trying to control their habit. Its not going to happen...I am an addict. A horror addict!
Alot may have changed since I was a little girl but a lot has also stayed the same. Im still scared of sharks thanx to Jaws and airplanes thanx to twilight zone...hell Im even still scared of Ray Liotta! And I'm still looking for that piss your pants, sleep in your mom's bed scary movie...but although I've fallen in love w/ many movies I've never ever felt the thrill that I did when I first watched Field of Dreams.
