Spikes Come Down on Bed in Early '90s Haunted House Film

I'm looking for the title of an early '90s movie where a family or group of teens has car trouble and goes into an empty house on a hill.

In one scene, a persona is lying on a bed in the middle of the room and spikes come down. The character escapes with help of others.

In another scene, there's a wooden spiral staircase that leads to a tree house.

Any ideas?
