Definitely a cult series!

Misfits of Science (1985-86 TV series)
starring Dean Paul Martin (Dean Martin's son); Mark Thomas Miller; Kevin Peter Hall (best-known for portraying such creatures as the Predator twice; the hunter alien in Without Warning (1980), very much like the Predator movies; Harry of Harry and the Hendersons (1987); and the mutant bear in Prophecy) (1979); Courteney Cox, and Max Wright (best-known for ALF TV series)

IMDb series premise:
Superhero series about a group of young mutants who work for an American thinktank fighting crime. Elvin can shrink to a size of eight inches, Gloria possesses telekinetic powers, and Johnny B is able to fire lightning bolts from his hands. Their leader is Dr. Hayes.
