The 10 Most Scary - and Haunting - Horror Movies Ever!

The most scary and evil monster in a movie ever!!

The most scary and evil monster in a movie ever!!

1. IT (was afraid of going to the bathroom - and other places - for a LONG time after watching it!)

2. The Shining (simple story, that works!! Plus got that special "old-fashion-horror-movie-feeling" that is cozy and creepy at the same time!)

3. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (includes the most scary family ever portrayed in a movie!)

4. Jaws (is still afraid of swimming in the sea sometimes because of that movie!)

5. Rosemary's Baby (every mothers nightmare, plus got that same great "old-fashion-horror-movie-feeling", as in the shining)

6. Black Christmas, 1974 (the most creepy beginning of a horror movie ever! And got some very creepy scenes in it too!)

7. The Village (the danger is lurking just outside of your home/backyard: a great concept that anyone can relate to, plus includes a VERY scary scene in the end)

8. Scream 1 (it might be a "teenage horror-movie", but it's a hell of a good one!!)

9. The Descent (has some very good shocking effects, plus who isn't afraid of the idea of getting trapped in a deep and dark cave?)

10. The Ring (brilliant story, with a very creepy atmosphere as only the Japanese can do it)

Come on guys, help me out. I need a really good scary movie, not a slasher movie but something that will scare the heck out of me.

Maybe 3 titles on that list were scary in a sense. The Village was one of the worst "horror" movies I have ever seen, and scream? How is scream scary? I am also docking points for saying that the ring was a japanese movie when it is a remake of a japanese movie, big lost points cause I am such a J Horror fan, and Ringu was great.

And agree that all of the movies are VERY scary.. Perhaps except from the village. But it's a very good movie though!

ALL OF THE MOVIES ON YOUR LIST ARE TRULY FREAKY, HOW ABOUT THE GRUDGE? THAT MOVIES FOR ME WAS ONE OF THOSE THAT I WANTED TO HIDE MY EYES BUT DIDN'T. AFTER WATCHING THAT MOVIE WITH MY FAMILY, THE SOUND THAT THE LITTLE BOY MADE WAS LIKE THE NEW SOUND TO FREAK MY KIDS OUT, WHEN THEY WERE GOING TO SLEEP OR WHEN I SNUCK UP ON THEM! AWESOME!
