'Bad Taste' should be on here
by: Iodyne

Good list and decent top 10. Bad Taste (1987) should be on here though.

The 40 Best 1980's Horror Films

James Coker, Me and you can hangout bro. I saw all of the movies on your list with my girlfriend and buddies and we always had a blast (rooting for the villains to finish their work.) If I can I would like to make one addition: Maniac (1980) starring Joe Spinell.

I lived in New York City at the time Son of Sam was terrorizing all five burroughs. We saw this movie at a theater in Times Square (42nd Street) and it made us look over our shoulders for a little while.

Nice

I tell ya, bud, your horror movie knowledge isn't bad at all. You know more GOOD horror movies than most. I personally enjoyed all you've titled. I'm sure everyone has said this but yes these movies are big classics, and horror movies only get bloodier and nastier every year. What more can you ask for? I think this year and next year there are going to be some 1980 movie remakes. Make sure to listen up for the new Goonies 2 and who is going to be in it. I hear its all original cast except for the ones who have died (which would be the mom and the guy who played Sloth). Anyway, those are some killer movies bro.

YOUR COMMENT MUST HAVE A TITLE
by: Watchman de profundis

I certainly agree with most of the movies ( I like that you gave props to "Humanoids from the Deep", "The Blob" and a lot of the other great monster flicks from the 80s . . . People tend to forgot that the 80s weren't just about Slasher Flicks) but just not the order. However, there is no point in arguing about taste. Spot on! This could make a good must-see list for beginners or, for that matter, a checklist of movies to watch again for the rest of us.
