I want to talk a little about a great movie that needs more credit, The Devils Rejects:

The Devil's Rejects is a great movie - if you are a horror fan you need to watch it. This is the sequel to House of a 1000 Corpses, but personally I hate that movie and for me it is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The only good thing is Dr. Satan, but apart of that nothing else.

In The Devils Rejects Rob Zombie went all out, I mean he learned from the past and blew me away, so sit back and let the strange and twisted story of the Firefly family unfold before you.

Otis is the devil and he is here to do the devil's work. Otis is one of the devil's rejects and is one of my favorite villains of all time. He doesn't care who you are, he will kill you and then laugh about it. Baby is hot as hell and she is pure evil - don't make her angry because that's your biggest mistake. Last but not least there's Captain Spalding. He is the father and is in constantly fighting with Otis He is a clown but he does not make you laugh - he will come at night and me you his bitch.

The Devil's Rejects is a great movie so give it a chance you will not be disappointed - and you'll get creeped out big time...

In my opinion, there exists a genre of movies that, while horror, are not monster flicks. No zombies, aliens, boogie men creatures, just men and women acting in horrific ways. These movies naturally verge on psychological thrillers and are often based on serial killer plot lines like Seven or Candyman or Manhunter.

I wont get to involved here. I 'll just say that the plot isnt 100% praiseworhty its got a few poorly delivered lines and unnecessary scenes but the big picture here are the themes. The themes of the American family turned inton a band of psychopathic killers, theh theme of forcing the viewer to sympathize with or alternatively not be able to distinguish the killers from the good guys. Zombie also delivers with the cinematography and classic rock score to round out the movie. And as much as the characters may be loved or hated, they are developed and that makes this far different than most run of the mill psych/horror flicks.

Not so sure...

I *am* a horror movie freak and I have to admit that I didn't think Devil's Rejects was as much as it could have been.
Much of it I felt was gratuitous and difficult to accept. It had that dated feel of the lovely Chainsaw Massacre but let itself down with the buckets of ketchup. Perhaps a little more subtlety would have promoted the horror... but hey, it's all subjective, right?
