Somewhere between soft-core porn and the Twilight Zone lies the new web series The Fold. Definitely for the “over 18 crowd”, this is a series of snappy and sexy short web episodes that follows a cast of characters through the events leading up to the “worldwide orgasm”.

The Fold (2008) Web Series - Gaming Babe

The development of a time machine seems to be at the heart of the coming change to the world as we know it. The developer of this machine, Cody Ferguson, has fallen in love with Joan of Arc… and, he suffers from a self-reported case of Aspergers Syndrome. His father Avery, the CEO of the company funding this project, wants to use the machine to vacation at the sight of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence,…while it is being signed… and use the modern existence of “Girls Gone Wild” to justify repealing freedom of speech.

Meanwhile Cindy Garaway (Karen Grenke) is using dirty white cotton panties (with a hint of girl-pee) to blackmail her way to the top of the company, Rachel Campaniello (Angela Lovell) is using her influence as hack reporter for Gaming Babes magazine to The Fold (2008) Web Series - Cotton Pantieshunt for the biggest scoop of her life (along with an unnaturally long stint of sexual arousal), two space-station workers discover the joys of granny panties and a frustrated hot tub salesman gains sexual power beyond his comprehension. All this and more leads to the arrival of The Fold… whatever that is.

The Fold takes full advantage of the freedom available through Internet webisodes. The episodes are short and move along quickly, the sex is plentiful (although not hard core), the characters are colorful and over the top and there is a nagging feeling that it is all leading to a profound conclusion with philosophical relevance. The episodes reach out from the computer screen, grab your attention, assault the senses and then kindly offer a wet towel before rolling the credits. When each episode draws to a close a desperate “Nooooo!” escapes the lips – you want more… Quite a feat in a world where the “back” button is only too easy to reach and is used liberally. Definitely not horror… maybe Sci-Fi… Absolutely fun.

The Fold is low budget but I only noticed that until the granny panties came out – pretty quickly in episode one. With each following episode the hooks nabbed another chunk of flesh, keeping eyes and ears pasted to the screen awaiting the next development. By the conclusion of episode three I was completely and totally hooked. After racing through the DVD menu looking for number four with rapt anticipation it suddenly it hit me… I didn’t have episode four! Noooooooooo!

The Fold (2008) Web Series - emerging from The Fold through the hot tub.

The Fold is an addictive web series that I am looking forward to with bated breath. Luckily I won’t have to wait long as the release is scheduled for August 4, 2008.

So now that this series is coming I do have one sincere hope… please let there be a deep philosophical meaning to the whole thing so that I can reference that when people call me a pervert for watching. And yes, I DO read Playboy for the articles, thank you very much. Questions or comments about The Fold? Discuss it on The Ossuary Forums!
