The List of Twenty

I haven't been an avid horror movie watcher but when I was told zombie movies (and virus movies) are now included in this category my expertise became a little bit broader. This is my list, not in any order, just good movies that I enjoyed.
1. The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005). Believe it or not it is actually a good movie. I watched it when I was much younger, but the ending puts the icing on the cake for me.
2. 28 Days Later (2002). Make sure you watch 28 Weeks Later (2007) as well. It’s not as good as the first, but they are my favorite virus movies.
3. Stake Land (2010). Awesome vampire movie! It’s not a blood and gore movie; it focuses more on the main human character's travels. Really good, don't miss it.
4. The Blair Witch Project (1999). I will spoil it and say it's fake. But the acting is killer. The story line is pretty decent, and it isn't super scary but it makes you want to keep watching it so you can see what will happen next.
5. Silent Hill (2006) not the FanEdition. It won't be what you expect. It will keep you guessing until the end and at the end, you'll want more. I have heard rumor that there is supposed to be a sequel.
6. Batman: The Dark Knight (2008). I don't know if this qualifies in the genre but it has the aspects of a horror movie – suspense, brutality, a really bad, bad guy and an troubled good guy. I love this movie and am counting the months until Summer 2012 when the third one is released, although I don't know if they can top the Joker's performance.
7. Sweeney Todd (2007). If anybody says this isn't a horror film, I think they may be a little twisted themselves. This is definitely not a movie for the squeamish. I really liked it.
8. Se7en (1995). This is Brad Pitt's best movie. It's a mystery, crime, and horror. Nothing supernatural, unless you consider the killer to be a spawn of the devil, lol.
9. Trick ‘r Treat (2007). Not one I’d normally be interested in, but my boyfriend got me to watch it and I really enjoyed it. It has a good story to it, and twists too.
10. Paranormal Activity (2007). I saw the second one and made fun of it a little bit, but it does tie into the first. It’s just not as scary. The first one makes you jump and phone your best friend to sleep over.
11. Silence of the Lambs (1991). It's a bit slow just because it's a ‘90s movie but it is still a movie that you'll watch more than once.
12. Hide and Seek (2005). A good one, watch.
13. Pan's Labyrinth (2006). Another one that may not qualify as horror but because you don't know what's good or bad and or what's going to happen in the end, it keeps you guessing and wondering if something really bad is going to happen.
14. The Zodic Killer (2005). It’s a little slow for my taste but is another one that keeps you guessing. I'd watch it again.
15. House of Wax (2005). WAIT before you click out, and hear me out. It is a bad movie, but it is spooky because it makes you feel stranded and sometimes a corny, creepy stupid Paris Hilton movie is just what you need.
16. The Happening (2008). Really interesting idea. The ending is awesome too, almost poetic justice; you'll see.
17. I Am Legend (2007). Will Smith is one of my favourite actors. P.S it's a vampire movie, not a zombie movie. It is not a blood and gore movie but has a great story.
18. The Ring (2002). Worth a watch.
19. The Skeleton Key (2005). I don't know how popular this movie is but definitely watch it. Good story line; you'll watch it again once you're done.
20. The Lovely Bones (2009). I've seen this classified as horror. I don’t particularly agree but what happens to the main character and family along with the town and the bad guy, is horrible, horrifying and…yes, I guess it is horror.
Hope you enjoyed the list. Sorry I couldn't make it longer. These are all the movies I could think of. Some are purposely left out; some I refuse to watch.
