I remember watching this episode on TV in late '70s. I don't remember much about it, except for the fact that it was the cause of many nightmares. Damn he was hard to kill.

Actually, I saw this show on TV about 15 years ago. It's about a man made out of mud via the Jewish tradition of a gola, I believe. The only way you can kill it is to pour salt on it. The show made me very frightened because there was no music build up for when the mud man jumped out. Lots of boo action and I really don't scare that easily. I mean the Saw series and those bloody types of shows are not scary to me - they are predictable and sickening. But for a real scare...like a haunted house ride...the 'Mud Man' movie is very good.

'Mud Man' filmed in my home town and 1000 islands

It is Halloween 2010 and I was just reminiscing about the time Hollywood came to my little tourist town of Gananoque, Ontario (the gateway to the 1000 Islands). I remember how the robotic hand was a crowd pleaser and it was all the talk. My memories may not be correct because if it was 1977 then I was only 7 at the time. A few years later (I think) I watched the movie on TV and thought it was rather lame. I guess I didn't appreciate B movies back then...today I appreciate the intelligence of SAW lol.

I remember watiching a movie when I was maybe 10 (1977?) where a group of young adults goes to an island to visit someones father. Some kind of monster made from mud and sticks has killed everyone. The boat they came on is destroyed and they can't leave. I remember the hand of the moster being cut off in a door and crawling around after them until someone spills salt on it, drying it out and killing it. I watched it moving constantly looking out the window behind my chair until it was over. Have no idea what the title is.
