The Stores Took My Money
by Martin
(Denmark)
I was always scared of horror movies because my dad made me watch Poltergeist (1982) when I was a little kid, and that gave me the wrong idea about them.
Then when I was thirteen, my friend rented The Exorcist (1973). I liked it so I bought it, and we started a tradition that I would buy a new horror movie each week. I found a store that sold five movies for $15.00, and sometimes ten for $20.00 - I found this hard to resist. So I started out with easy ones like Phsyco (1960) and Halloween (1978). Then when I had about 60 films, my friend didn't have time for them anymore, and I wouldn't watch them alone for a long time. Finally I tried it and wasn't scared, so I lost all my money at that store and have over 140 horror movies in my collection. I've also watched so many on the PC I've lost count.
That's my tale. Just sitting here waiting for Scream 4 (2011).
