The Town Reporter is the Murderer

I am trying to find out about a TV based horror movie that I saw.

In the movie there is a killer in a small town and they don't know who it is, and he kills all the teenagers. It turns out that the killer is the local reporter, and everyone trusts him so the victims let him into their houses.

The film has a girl who is all alone in her house - I don't think she ever leaves, but she still gets killed in the end.I thought it was Chris Sarandon who played the reporter but I can't seem to find any of his movies where he played a reporter.

Anyway the teenagers let him in when they're alone because he is cute and famous.
