Underground Monster Afraid of Pentagrams

Does anyone remember a movie about a giant underground monster that looks like a troll?

It lives in an underground tunnel, and magically reaches up through the ground, pulling people under. In one scene, it pulls someone out of their living room. In another scene, the person is safe from the monster because they draw a pentagram on the ground and stand in it.

Ideas?
