Vacuum Cleaner Shoots Balls at Kids in 80's Film

I'm trying to find an 80's horror movie, possibly made-for-TV that scared me as a kid but would now probably just be cheesey.

For the longest time I thought it was the The Boogeyman (1980), but I'm not so sure.

There's this evil ghost guy that terrorizes these kids. In one scene, the kids are in the basement and a vacuum cleaner kicks on and the hose starts shooting out ping pong balls at them and freaks them out.
