Vampire Orphanage

This pic kind of reminds me of the movie.

This pic kind of reminds me of the movie.

My dad raised me watching horror movies. Disney who? When I was about 5-6 years old I remember watching this vampire movie that I've been searching for for awhile now. I'm hoping that by telling you what I can remember you'll be able to tell me the title of it.

In the beginning of the movie this father was traveling with his teenage daughter (blond hair) and younger son, who had to be about 8 years old. They ended up stopping in this town to get some rest. While they were checking into a motel the daughter met this guy who basically flirted back and forth with her. He was the bad boy type. Tall, dark hair, etc.

Well, the father ended up being killed by these demonic looking monks. Because he was all the kids had they were taken to the town's orphanage that was ran by this very bitchy woman who sorta looked like the crazy red headed chick from Silent Hill (the one who wanted to burn Sharon). The orphanage had this old fashion Victorian style about it. The woman who ran it dressed in the Victorian style as well (i.e. white high collared blouse with the lace on top, etc.)

Anyway, the daughter noticed a lot of weird things happening at the orphanage, especially with the kids there. While searching the place she found a room with coffins, etc. There was a scene where she hid underneath the coffins while the demonic looking monks were looking for her. I remember the daughter wearing this long white pajama. Sorta like the one Laura & Mary Ingals wore on Little House On The Prairie.

Basically, the orphanage (& town) was being run by a vampire, who was turning the kids into vampires too. Unfortunately, the little brother becomes one. The rest of the movie is a blur, except for the ending. I remember the guy she met in the beginning of the movie, who ends up helping her escape, holding her while she is laying half way on the ground outside. And then she lifts her head off his shoulder to show that she was turned into a vampire too and bites into his neck. That's where it ends.

Sorry I couldn't give you more info. I drove myself crazy trying to remember the name of 'Tourist Trap'. I hope you can help me find the name of the movie above. Oh, and this movie came out around the late 70s.

Sounds like...

The Return of Count Yorga (1971). Robert Quarry stars as the Count who happens to live near an orphanage. Hope this helps.

'Lemora'
by: Anonymous

This kind of sounds like Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural (1973) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070300/), but there is no boy in the movie. It's about a girl who gets taken to live with a woman vampire who has a group of vampire kids living with her, and vampires in robes who could be the monks you're thinking of.

Seen it
by: Anonymous

I saw this film when I was really really young. I had recurring dreams for years about it. I also vaguely remember a film about kids with weird hypnotic powers that made the eye specialist put some stuff in her own eyes. Not sure if this is the same film.

Please tell me if you find the name of the film.

I don't know the name but now I'm interested in watching it. I've seen many vampire movies and hundreds of horror films.

If I find it I'll post back.
