That's it! Watched it this morning. The catacomb scene near the end is still very creepy, and the acting does get a little better as the movie continues.

The Resurrected sounds very promising! I will look into it now.

I knew Nightbreed wasn't it. I've seen that movie several times.

It will be ironic if it is The Resurrected because I am a Lovecraft fan.

The Resurrected (1992). Based on HP Lovecraft's 'The Case of Charles Dexter Ward'.

The book, by the way, is much darker and creepier.
