Voodoo Doll With Dagger

Looking for a movie about a man that inherits a house in the country, and friends and family start to show up there.

All are killed except for one young woman. The woman has a doll with a dagger in it that has somehow killed the others but protected her.

Before the young woman shows up at the house though, a painter who is painting the house falls backwards off a ladder and dies.

Does anyone know what movie this is?
