The Second Season of the Masters of Horror series on Showtime combines top horror writers and directors together for a second year creating some incredible (and some not so incredible) one-hour features. We Scream for Ice Cream, the tenth episode of season 2 is a silly non-PC monster/ghost story.

Synopsis: Many years ago, a
group of young punks decided to have some fun with the local ice cream
man. This ice cream man was a little on the slow side, dressed like a
clown, and tried to make the children laugh. The young boys in We Scream
for Ice Cream would have none of that so they
decided to play a prank on him. Well, as all pranks are want to do, it
went wrong and the ice cream man died. Now he is back to exact his
revenge on them by utilizing there children. Anyone for a
drumstick?
Thoughts: I have thought about this for a long time (about two minutes) and have come to the conclusion that We Scream for Ice Cream reminds me of a bad episode “Monsters” from the late 80’s. The story was ridiculous, the dialogue was laughable, the acting was abysmal, and the directing was nothing short of mediocre. The effects looked like something out of Raiders of the Lost Ark. The plot looked like it had seen the business end of a 12 gauge (a lot of holes). It was all that I could do to sit there and watch all 57 minutes. In my humble opinion, We Scream for Ice Cream beats out The Damned Thing for weakest episode of season 2. Questions or comments about We Scream for Ice Cream? Contact us!
